Trip to the dentist

Yesterday I went to the dentist. I had to have a permanent crown seated. It only took ten minutes, no shots or anything and it wasn’t painful but boy was I glad to get out of there.
I don’t have the greatest teeth in the world. I have several root canals, six amalgams and a veneer or two. Right now you’re probably thinking I have a mouth that looks like Richard Kiel’s metal mouth in Moonraker.
Nah, it’s not that bad.
It’s very likely you have read something about the mercury in amalgam fillings being horrible for your health. Dental amalgam has been used for 150 years and since the human race is still sort of flourishing, then it’s safe, right. I’m not so sure. Maybe it’s because I have a mouth full of them and I want it to be safe.
I signed up a long time ago to get Dr. Mercola’s newsletter sent to my inbox. His website is packed full of information on many ailments, supplements– you name it, if it’s related to health, he knows about it. He has a lot of information about mercury in amalgams and how it ruins your health. He advised us to:
– Have our current amalgam fillings removed by a dentist that knows how to safely handle mercury; an environmental dentist. If they are not removed properly, the mercury exposure from having those fillings drilled out can cause worse health issues than what you had before having them removed.
He had amlagams and had them removed years ago. The procedure was performed by a dentist that didn’t know how to properly shield himself and his patient from the mercury. Dr. Mercola nearly lost his kidneys and had to go on dialysis. He recovered completely because “Fortunately, I have access to some of the best medical minds on the planet and I was able to have the problem reversed”.
Sure wish I would’ve known that years ago before the first amalgam filling. Oh well, life goes on, hopefully.

Hi, I don’t know how it happened but I typed a search in to find out how to turn the sound off on a game and as I looked down the list I saw something that caught my eye and found you. You have a wonderful website…oh how things have improved for homeschooling since I did it for my two. Now they are grown and my daughter is married and added to grandchildren, with the help of our wonderful son-in-law. Our son is getting married this May. Anyways I wish you well, you sound like such a loving and caring Mom. My daughter grew up to feel that we did the wrong thing by her, as far as schooling but our son disagrees. But I was a different mother than you and so I don’t think it was the homeschool but me. My best to you…I still miss those cold winter days, curled up with a book, reading to them and them begging me to read more.
Ohmygoodness. I got a google alert that led me here and I saw the picture above and couldn’t figure out who in the world wrote this and what it had to do with my articles. Took me a minute to figure out that it was you, Lisa, LOL.
